Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Revenant Timber & Reclaimed ("Revenant Timber," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Wisconsin Reclamation Project, based in Ripon and Princeton, Wisconsin. This policy explains what information we collect through revenantimber.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us directly:

  • Material inquiry form — name, company (optional), email, phone (optional), and details about the material you're requesting.
  • Furniture commission form — name, email, the type of piece you're interested in, project details, and an optional inspiration photo you upload.
  • Newsletter signup — your email address.
  • Shop orders — your name, shipping address, and email, collected during checkout. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by us (see Section 4).

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard web server and hosting logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps), collected by our hosting provider for security and performance purposes.
  • A single, non-tracking local storage entry that remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode on the Site. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels at this time. If that changes, we will update this policy and add a cookie banner where required.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to material inquiries and commission requests
  • Process and fulfill shop orders, including shipping and customer service
  • Send newsletter updates to subscribers who opt in
  • Improve the Site and diagnose technical issues
  • Comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. How we share your information

We share information only as needed to run the business:

  • Stripe (payment processing) — handles all card payments for shop orders and commission deposits. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing the payment data it processes.
  • Form and email delivery services — the forms on this Site route submissions and newsletter signups through third-party form-delivery and email tools so we receive them by email.
  • Hosting provider (Vercel) — stores and serves the Site's files and processes server logs.
  • Service providers acting on our behalf — for example, if we use a shipping carrier, we share the shipping address needed to deliver your order.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

5. Data retention

We keep inquiry, commission, and order information for as long as needed to fulfill your request, maintain business and tax records, and resolve any disputes — generally no longer than seven years for financial records. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Newsletter — every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us directly.
  • Access, correction, or deletion — you can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing the contact below. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
  • California residents — if applicable under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

7. Children's privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us, including relying on Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure for all payment data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
